Here is a cute dog collar pattern to practice the crocodile stitch. It is shown here on a small dog, but the pattern provides instructions on how to modify this for any size pet, including cats.

It’s an easy pattern to practice making the crocodile stitch pattern.

You will need a worsted weight yarn and an H crochet hook.
