Bridge Crossing Doily

This doily pattern is worked along the edge of a linen. It makes for a pretty doily for around the home. The pattern does not say how big a piece or the shape of linen, so I’m wondering if this pattern could be used on almost anything from tablecloths to bedspreads or pillowcases?

The pattern recommends a size 70 or 80 crochet thread and a No. 11 or 12 crochet hook.
