With their distinctive kidney shape and the way the nut curves at one end, some people find the resemblance to a gnome amusing. I recently came across an article on growing cashews, and couldn’t resist making a crocheted version of this adorable nut.

• Worsted weight yarn –
  • 15 yards MC (red or amber)
  • 10 yards tan
• Crochet hook size G (4.00 mm)
• Yarn needle
• Fiberfill
• Pipe cleaner
• Ribbon for hanging
