Here’s a free crochet pattern for a positive potato: a smiling potato shaped like an egg, with two short raised arms and two tiny oval feet. It’s the little pocket pal folks give along with a note saying it believes in you. You crochet the positive potato in single crochet using DK (light worsted) cotton yarn and a 3.5 mm (US E-4) hook, and it turns out around 4 in (11 cm) tall. There are 5 pieces (potato body, arm x2, foot x2) that get sewn together at the end, and there’s a picture for each assembly step. Each round is written out with its stitch count, in US terms. Skill level: easy.
