There are so many uses for appliques, including this one. I like how it’s put on an image as shown. It’s a great way to finish off an painting. If you’re not a painter you could add this in a corner of a placemat or a kitchen towel.

You will need a medium weight yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook.
