This is a fun, free & easy half double crochet (hdc) Heart Hat crochet pattern. The crochet pattern is written for three sizes: toddler, child & adult. It’s an easy to follow pattern which makes it great for crochet beginners. The hat is worked flat in rows of hdc. The brim is also worked flat in rows of sc and is then sewn onto the hat. You’ll need worsted weight yarn and an H5mm crochet hook or hook needed to obtain gauge.

Finished Sizes: Toddler, Child & Adult

Materials

  • Yarn: worsted weight (#4). I used Caron One Pound (Dark Gray & Deep Violet) and Red Heart Super Saver in Turqua and White.
  • Hook: I don’t want to recommend a hook size. I was able to obtain the gauge using a H 5mm crochet hook. You will want to make your own gauge swatch(es) to determine what size hook you should use (see “gauge” section on the pattern page).
  • Tapestry needle
  • Locking stitch markers
  • Scissors
  • Large Pom Pom maker
  • Hot melt adhesive
