Pumpkinhead Hat

When the weather starts cooling and the leaves are changing color, ’tis the season for the Pumpkinhead hat! The pattern is available in two baby sizes to fit 3-6 months  and 6-9 months.

This hat not only has the realistic shape of a pumpkin, but it’s also got a nice knit look, which is favored among many.

Sizes:

• Baby: 3-6 months (G/4.25 mm hook)
• Baby: 6-9 months (H/5 mm hook)

Finished measurements:

• 3-6 months (6-9 months): 14″ (15″)/35 cm (38 cm) in diameter
• Crochet hook: 3-6 months (6-9 monts): G/4.25 mm (H/5 mm)

Gauge:

• G (4.25) hook: 14 dc stitches = 4 in (10 cm)
  • 5 rows = 3 in (7.5 cm)
• H (5) hook: 13 dc stitches = 4 in (10 cm)
  • 6 rows = 3.75 in (9.5 cm)

Materials:

• Yarn: Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic)
  • Pumpkin – about 150 yards (137 m)
  • Dark Sage – about 16 yards (15 m)
• Tapestry needle optional (for weaving in ends)
