Granny’s Stashbusting Tissue Box Cover

By Alexandra of EyeLoveKnots.

By nature, scrap yarn is just a part of crocheting. Nearly finishing a ball of yarn, but knowing we can use that small amount that’s left in another project, so we don’t toss it. This is a great project to use up those small amounts as you only need to work a one round solid granny square, AND each square can be a different color if you want!

Being that this is made in a lightweight (#3) yarn, I think some good alternatives to try (or dig out of your stash) is a sports weight yarn, like Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Sport Weight Yarn, or Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Glamour Yarns, or a yarn with Nylon as this fiber provides both a great stretch and hold to shape.

Aside from being able to bust through your stash, a tissue box cover is a great gift idea, especially for a co-worker or teacher, but really for anyone who works at a desk (on the job, or at home), or keeps a tissue box around the house.

Materials Needed:

  • Small Amounts of Lightweight #3 Yarn
  • G6/4mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
